Aloha and Welcome,
This site is devoted to Hawaiian art in general. I am an artist on Kauai, Hawaii, and I hand make Hawaiian hooks. I would like you to feel free to look around and find out information about the art and the lore behind the Hawaiian hooks.
I will provide as much information about the Hawaiian Hooks as I can, and I will even provide information about the materials I use when I can.
There are 2 levels of information here. Levels 1 is the main site, and if you would like to see more general information on Hawaiian hooks, look for the Main Site link on the left hand side menu.
You will also find under the information link, general info on Hawaiian Hooks, and the materials they are made of.
Please NOTE: These hooks are one of a kind, hand carved Hawaiian hooks. So, they do take between a week and 10 days for me to carve. The hooks are carved, then sanded, then polished, then oiled, then polished again. Have you ever heard of lather, rise, and repeat? That is the process, and can take several days for drying and re polishing.
So, Mahalo ~ thank you for stopping by.
George
